NEW COURSE!

Detoxification in Dogs & Cats

Detoxification is not something you DO to your pet, or an occasional "cleanse", it is something the body is constantly doing. This intensive course explores detoxification as a physiological process in dogs and cats: structured, sequential, and dependent on capacity rather than stimulation. You will learn how liver, lymph, gut, and kidneys work together, and how to support these systems with clarity and precision.

Detoxification as Physiological Function: Not a Trend

Detoxification is one of the most frequently used and most frequently misunderstood concepts in natural animal health care. The word suggests something extraordinary: a cleanse, a seasonal reset, a procedure that purges the body of accumulated harm. None of that reflects biological reality. This course begins where the conversation rarely does: with what detoxification actually is, how it functions in the body, and why getting the sequence wrong causes the very problems it is supposed to solve.

Built around a five-phase model (Phase 0 through Phase IV), it extends the conventional three-phase biochemical framework to include pre-hepatic substrate uptake and extra-hepatic elimination via kidney, skin, and lymph. From this foundation, we move into the clinical questions that determine whether detoxification supports or burdens the individual animal: how to assess the animal before starting, how to distinguish between detoxification, drainage, and trophic restoration, and how to sequence these steps correctly. A dedicated section covers the physiological differences between dogs and cats, including the limited conjugation capacity of the feline liver. Common myths are addressed directly and without compromise.

Practical content includes an overview of environmental toxin exposure relevant to companion animals, a Materia Medica of key plants and supplements used across the phases, clinical protocols for eight common presentations, and simplified guidance for pet owners.

Suited for pet health care professionals, animal herbalists or naturopaths, herbalism students, and committed pet owners who want to understand detoxification as organized physiology rather than a wellness trend.

Grounded in physiology, applied in practice.
